Personality types and marriage.

4 Nov

Dr. Galena Rhoades from the University of Denver gave us an engaging presentation on “Healthy Relationships, Happy Families.”  She talked about communication styles of men and women in marriages, and how those are affected by different personality types.

We all took the “Primary Colors” personality test by Dawn Billings.  You can do your own test on her website.

Due to copyright issues we cannot post Dr. Rhoades’ slides on our blog, but she provided us with useful links from which she gathered information for her presentation:

www.TwoOfUs.org (relationship information)
www.PREPinc.com (local company offering relationship education and training)
www.myrelationshipcenter.org (free workshops for couples in Colorado)
Fighting for Your Marriage by Markman, Stanley, & Blumberg (book that covers some of the topics we discussed plus many more)
You can contact Dr. Rhoades for more information or to set up a counseling appointment in her private practice: galena@rhoadesconsulting.com
